As a matter of fact we originally wanted a Basenji... a leggy one with a thoughtful look. But after several get-togethers with this kind of breed we realized it wouldn't be the appropriate type for us. So we forgot about the appearance and we started to seek in the encyclopedia a companion, who would like to go with us to some trips without scouting him around for hours in the forest. We looked for a friend who could stay home alone while we are working and when we come back he would enjoy the life with us. It also shouldn't be one of the smallest breeds, we wouldn't like to hurt him with one wrong step :o) With the excluding method we finally came to the breed called Tibetan Terrier. And though we didn't hear anything about it so far, the websites of breeders extended our knowledge and during the Bratislava exhibition in August 2003 we fell at the first sight in love with sable-colored bitch Sanna. Her quiet and pleasant character as well as her waggish looks confirmed our choice. Also her bridegroom Monty seemed very likeable and friendly.
Coupling of Monty and Sanna made us hope for the ideal companion to our household. We didn't even persist in the sable-colored puppy, we would take any bitch from this litter. Well, in case if there really wouldn't be any sable puppy...
After some months of waiting, on the 1st of April in the evening, Sanna delighted us and her sympathetic breeder Barbora Blažejová with eight puppies. Between them there was also our puppy we longed for. She got the name Arien that refers to the most beautiful place in the world. She also got two masters and both of them love her cordially. Thanks to Barbora who has been very patient and answered hundreds of our questions about tibetans and entrusted us one of her first born in spite of the fact that we are just beginners.
With Arien we entered the world of dogs, we discovered the show-rules, the effect of shampoos, the number of conditioners.... Arien had all the patience with us, she let us treat her in fact as we wished, her wonderful character earned everybody, who had a chance to meet her and get to know her closely. She enjoyed everything that we did: with pleasure she went to pick mushrooms with us, without any problems she accompanied us at long 500 km travels by car from Bratislava to Domaša in the East of Slovakia and back. At the shows she did her best, won the title Junior Champion of Slovakia and became Top Tibetan Terrier of Slovakia in 2005. Her hair included all the shades of golden metals - from the lightest to the darkest. It was a real enjoyment to brush her. In fact, life itself was an enjoyment with her. As good as it gets.... shortly before her second birthday, on November 29, 2005, we said goodbye to her forever.
After Arien´s passing our appartment suddenly felt cold and empty. We decided not to stay there without a doggie and, wishing to find the same character, as was Arien had, we arranged a puppy from the same kennel Schambala, from the same sable girl Sanna. The planned puppies´ father was a charming dog from a renonwned German breeding Schanti´s Khan-po Kukur Baba Lamleh.
After Sanna and Khan-po felt sympathy for each other, on April 26, 2006, beautiful spotted puppies were born, among which there was only one bitch - our Bhoomi. Already the first weeks of our life with Bhoomi clearly showed us, that she didn´t have Arien´s character. She is much more lively, but also more quick to learn, and more self-confident. With her too we started the show-carreer very succesfully: at only the age of 6 months she won the Best-in-show - Most-beautiful-puppy-bitch title at the international show in Nitra. And we are looking forward to what life with her will bring us…..
